When people think about early childhood education, young children’s learning and development are, of course, top of mind. But for early learning experts like Ms. Katie, growth opportunities designed for teachers and Directors are also a big piece of the puzzle. At The Malvern School, she’s thriving in an environment that prioritizes both.

How have you been able to develop your career over the years?

KL: I began my career as a Pre-K teacher in Missouri, where I focused on developing an enrichment program for my students. When I moved to Pennsylvania, I was an Assistant Director in a childcare setting before I joined The Malvern School of Warrington as Director of Education in 2017.

The Malvern School offers opportunities to develop your career, which is something that’s incredibly important to me. I quickly learned “The Malvern Way,” was named “Director of Education of the Year” in 2019 and was promoted to Senior Director of Education in 2022. In this role, I now manage programs at both The Malvern School of Warrington and The Malvern School of Richboro.

What experiences have you found most rewarding?

KL: My experience at The Malvern School has been very rewarding. It’s great to work in an environment where everyone is focused on providing quality education, a safe environment for children and is dedicated to the team’s growth and development. I’m also really proud to have worked with our team in Warrington to recently renew our Accreditation from NAEYC and for receiving many recognitions for high assessment scores.

How do these rewarding experiences translate to quality in the classroom?

KL: When entering our classrooms at The Malvern School, you can see the dedication of the staff and how that translates to the children’s learning each day. The teachers’ passion for providing high-quality care and education is evident in their lesson plans and their daily activities with students!
