The Malvern Way
The Malvern School curriculum is designed to meet or exceed the standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest early childhood accrediting organization. Daycares or preschools that meet NAEYC’s standards of excellence provide an environment with a focus on health and safety, have teachers who are well trained, have access to excellent teaching materials, and work with curriculum that is appropriately challenging and developmentally sound to provide high-quality education for children in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We are making every effort for all of The Malvern Schools to achieve NAEYC accreditation.
Health and Safety
Maintaining the highest health and safety standards is of utmost importance to The Malvern School. Our schools are designed to meet or exceed all local and national health, safety and fire regulations in a childcare facility. At The Malvern School, we follow strict hand washing and sanitizing policies to prevent and reduce the spread of illnesses. We use a state-approved solution of bleach and water to sanitize toys and surfaces and our schools receive daily after-hours cleaning. Each school’s Director and Health and Safety Coordinator continuously monitor compliance of our health and safety policies and procedures to ensure they are up to standards. In addition to on-going training for best practices in early childhood education, The Malvern School provides First Aid, CPR, Emergency Evacuation and Fire Safety training to all staff members.
Tadpoles Electronic Communication System
The Malvern School knows today’s parents want to receive communication that is timely and informative. We are proud to partner with Tadpoles, a system that our teachers and directors use to electronically send Daily Profiles, informational emails, and pictures to parents. Along with our other methods of communication, this customized program offers families the most effective and efficient source of daily information including class lessons and activities, reminders and announcements, notes on your individual child’s progress, and photos of the fun and learning! You won’t find this elevated level of communication at traditional daycares. Our parents rave about the thorough reports they receive and how they can conveniently access them on-the-go.
In 1991, over a million children and their parents listened to First Lady Barbara Bush and a host of well-know celebrities, reading some of the nation’s best-loved children’s books on a radio show called “Mrs. Bush’s Story Time.” The show provided an entertaining, educational format that encouraged parents and their children together to read aloud.
The Malvern School became the first school in the country to introduce Mrs. Bush’s Story Time to more than 2,000 of our preschool students. To adapt Mrs. Bush’s Story Time to the preschool classroom, The Malvern School also created dynamic activity plans for each of the children’s books featured in the original broadcast. In collaboration with the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library, we offer them free-of-charge to all preschools, daycares, and libraries across the U.S. The Bush Library also hosts special Story Time Programs based upon our activity plans.
