The Malvern School® of Richboro Recognized Among Top Early Childhood Education Programs in U.S.

Bucks County preschool for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years earns NAEYC accreditation – achieved by less than 10 percent of programs nationwide – for third time

Richboro, PA – February 19, 2019 – While less than 10 percent of early childhood education centers in the U.S. achieve accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), The Malvern School of Richboro announced today it has earned the NAEYC mark of quality for the third time. NAEYC is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children.

“NAEYC-Accredited programs bring our definitions of excellence for early childhood education to life each day,” said Kristen Johnson, senior director of Early Learning Program Accreditation at NAEYC. “Earning NAEYC Accreditation makes The Malvern School of Richboro an exemplar of good practice for families and the entire community.”

Earning NAEYC Accreditation entails a rigorous assessment and observation process focused on ten program standards and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria. These 10 standards include:

  1. Relationships with children
  2. Curriculum
  3. Teaching approaches
  4. Child assessment
  5. Nutrition and health
  6. Staff qualifications
  7. Relationships with children’s families
  8. Community relations
  9. Physical environment
  10. Program leadership and management

The Malvern School of Richboro received high scores in each of these areas, including scores of 100%+ for seven program standards.

“At The Malvern School, we always put the children first,” said Christle Seal, Director of Educational Programs at The Malvern School. “This requires maintaining the highest standards of quality in all aspects of our schools – from our loving, degreed teachers and creative, engaging curriculum … to our carefully selected materials, professionally maintained facilities, proactive health and safety measures, and more. Being re-accredited by NAEYC is a testament to The Malvern School of Richboro’s steadfast dedication to this end.”

In the 30 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education.

According to the association, “Research shows a direct correlation between high-quality early learning and children’s positive long-term outcomes in life, including increased educational attainment, healthier lifestyles, and more successful careers.”
