The Malvern School understands a Toddler’s need for autonomy, balanced with a secure routine. Therefore, our teaching staff and their creative curriculum plans** provide opportunities for toddlers to learn, explore their interests, and grow in a safe environment.

Toddler Learning Objectives
Language and communication skill-building by means of comprehension games, repetition of new words, rhymes, stories, fingerplays and one-on-one conversions.
Advancing cognitive abilities that focus on colors, textures, shapes, patterns, and beginning letter and number concepts.
Development of physical skills with activities aimed at improving hand-eye coordination as well as large and small muscle strength, such as throwing, stacking, building, climbing, hopping , and riding.
Enjoyment of art and music through listening, singing and moving to songs, using musical instruments, working with simple art materials, and creating and responding to art.
Our Fascination Station is a favorite among our Toddler children. This custom designed room offers the opportunity for your child to see, touch, and do through hands-on activities to help satisfy their curious nature.
Social/emotional well-being, including building empathy, independence, problem-solving skills, and helping each child discover and express their feelings appropriately.

Children arrive at The Malvern School, get settled in, and begin participating in learning center activities.
Self-help routines include washing hands, cleaning up after meals, and identifying belongings.
The Malvern School provides 2 organic snacks each day.
Includes greeting songs, books, fingerplays, and introduction of concepts.
We have 3 age-appropriate playgrounds for every school: an infant playground, toddler playground, and pre-k and up playground.
Our Fascination Station is a favorite among our younger children. Activities include dramatic play, manipulatives, art and music, book nook and sensory.
Curriculum Plan activities include cognitive, language, social/emotional, physical, art experiences.
Curriculum Plan activities continue in the classroom setting.
Self-help routines include washing hands, cleaning up after meals, and identifying belongings.
Parent-provided lunches are given to the children at this time. Cleaning up after meals is also an encouraged skill.
Children will participate in quiet activities as they transition from lunch to their rest time.
Children will take time to nap or rest and recharge before continuing with their day.

Learning center activities will happen at this time. Teachers will communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up about their child’s day.
This is a sample Toddler schedule; actual schedules will vary by location. Diapers are checked and changed throughout the day, at a minimum of every two hours or as needed. These routines are integrated into the day to limit waiting and disruptions, and time for these tasks is accounted for in the above schedule.
