What Parents are saying:

I looked around at lots of schools and I just think The Malvern School has so much more to offer. You can’t put a price on staff, and I really feel that the staff at The Malvern School are very ‘real’ – they genuinely care about the children.

Meet Our Directors

Stacey Bittmann, Executive Director

Stacey Bittmann is the Executive Director at The Malvern School of Washington Township. Stacey joined The Malvern School team in 2022 with nearly 30 years of experience in education including as a teacher in Early Intervention, Case Worker and as Director. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.

One of Stacey’s proudest moments of her career was as a teacher in Early Intervention. One of her students was diagnosed with Autism and didn’t expect to speak at all, but he started speaking after six months of working with her! She loves that The Malvern School’s curriculum exceeds most schools and the Program introduces children as young as infants to a diverse collection of artists and authors.

During her free time, Stacey enjoys visiting her son in North Carolina, watching movies with her family and reading. Fun fact about Stacey! She loves boating- her family owned a boat for 20 years and enjoyed exploring the Delaware River with the kids. When she was young, she wanted to be a teacher. Her favorite children’s book is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle.

Sam Smith, Director of Education

Sam Smith is the Director of Education at The Malvern School of Washington Township. Sam joined The Malvern School team in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree from Rowan University and a Masters in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is certified to each K-6. She started her career in 2014 as a preschool Lead Teacher and then as a manager of a privately-owned preschool. She also spent time in a basic skills inclusion class at an elementary school.

One of Sam’s proudest moments of her career was seeing her first group of students from the afterschool program graduate from high school. She is also very proud to be the Director of Education at The Malvern School! When asked what sets The Malvern School apart from others, Sam says the curriculum. The daily routines are child-centered and focuses on activities that encourage learning and independence. For example, Centers are approached in a way for the children to decide which center they want and for how long. She also likes Process Art over product, which allows the child to be more hands on, independent and creative.

During her free time, Sam enjoys spending time down the shore with family and friends and she loves to travel to Disney World. When she was young, she always wanted to be a teacher. Her favorite children’s book is “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss or any of the Junie B Jones series.
