What Parents are saying:

I looked around at lots of schools and I just think The Malvern School has so much more to offer. You can’t put a price on staff, and I really feel that the staff at The Malvern School are very ‘real’ – they genuinely care about the children.

Meet Our Directors

Kristina Ficcaro, Director of Education

Kristina Ficcaro, Director of Education at The Malvern School of Washington Township, joined the team with more than 20 years of experience in education. Previous to The Malvern School, Kristina held many teaching roles as well as an Educational Director position at an early childhood education center. Kristina has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rider University and a New Jersey Teacher Certification from Rowan University.

Kristina’s proudest moments occur whenever an old student visits and recalls things she had taught them years ago. Many say she is still their favorite teacher! The small group interactions and unique specialty rooms are what make The Malvern School’s program shine to Kristina. She also loves being able to update parents with daily pictures and information throughout the day with the Tadpoles app.

In her free time, Kristina enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, shopping, and eating chocolate! Fun fact- starting at the age of 7, Kristina was a ballet dancer for 10 years. Now her children carry on her legacy by attending the same dance school. True to her character, Kristina always wanted to be a teacher and loved playing school with her friends. Her favorite children’s book is I’m Not Going to Get Up Today! By Dr. Seuss.

Donna Ruggiero, Assistant Director

Donna Ruggiero is the Associate Director at The Malvern School of Washington Township. Donna joined the team with previous experience in private preschool organizations and holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Rowan University.

The proudest moment of Donna’s career in early childhood education was when she realized she truly made a difference in a child’s life. Above all her experience in early childhood education, Donna believes The Malvern School’s specialty rooms go above and beyond to give children time to learn and explore, setting it apart from all other programs.

In her free time, Donna enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandson, family, and friends. In fact, she is so excited to be a grandmom for a third time! When she was younger, Donna wanted to be a lawyer and a teacher, and she loved history. Her favorite children’s book is “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Numeroff.
