Meet Our Directors

Dana Bladon, Executive Director

Dana Bladon has been the Executive Director of The Malvern School of Marlboro since March of 2016. She began working in Early Childhood Education in 2005 as a Preschool Teacher before being promoted to a Director role in 2008. She previously directed two Early Learning Centers in Central New Jersey for a total of nearly nine years before joining the Malvern family. Dana received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Fordham University in 2005 and her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Administration from Kean University in 2012. She loves working at The Malvern School because of the child-centered approach to learning that governs the program’s curriculum. Outside of work, Dana enjoys spending time with her husband and their baby boy, Gabe. She also likes dabbling in interior design and party planning for friends and family.

Darla Steiner, Director of Education

Darla Steiner is the Director of Education at The Malvern School of Marlboro. Darla joined The Malvern School team in 2023 with more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education. She started her education career in the classroom as a preschool teacher and worked her way up to Program Director and Administrator. She has a master’s degree in in Early Childhood Education and holds her teaching certificate.

One of Darla’s proudest moments of her career was helping implement Nature Explore, an outdoor-based classroom for her previous preschool program. It was a thoughtful and carefully planned process to help increase time children spend outdoors learning, and utilizing nature and the outdoors to help children to learn and grow.

At The Malvern School, she loves that the curriculum is intentional, and the special attention made to select diverse authors, illustrators and artists for the children to explore, as well as the fun, playful approach to learning math, science, literacy and civility concepts.

During her free time, Darla enjoys listening to music, cooking and baking, and reading. She also loves playing with her best friend, Yorkie, “Alfie”. Fun fact about Darla! She lived in Sleepy Hollow, NY for 14 years and has met the ‘headless horseman!’ Her favorite children’s book is “The Magic Friend Maker” by Gladys Baker Bond.
