Young World Travelers Take Flight

In line with our monthly theme, The World Traveler, December is the perfect time to focus on expanding the world view of young children. While many families are preparing to travel or celebrate customary traditions for the holidays, our young ‘world travelers’ have also been busy taking flight, exploring other cultures and countries in various ways throughout our schools.

Students at The Malvern School of Lionville and The Malvern School of King of Prussia explore countries on the map they would like to visit.

At The Malvern School of Washington Township, each classroom chose to represent a different country and students traveled around the school to visit each location, participating in activities related to each country. They had snack time with chips and salsa in Mexico, made flags in Ireland and explored lempira, the local currency in Honduras.

Classes at The Malvern School of West Norriton and The Malvern School of Jackson prepared homemade dessert and fruit sushi after learning about the Japanese dish.

The Malvern School of Malvern learned about Diwali – the festival of lights, and the biggest festival celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists around the world – and decorated clay diyas, or lamps.

The Malvern School of King of Prussia taste tested tea from China, then recorded who liked it and who didn’t.
