Spotlight on Kate Perez, 2018 Executive Director of the Year

Ask Kate Perez, The Malvern School’s 2018 Executive Director of the Year, what being honored with this recognition means to her, and she’ll tell you it represents the phrase, “The end justifies the means.”

“In other words, it’s all worth it,” says Ms. Kate. “All the hard work, time and effort you put in pays off. Whether it’s for the young children we have the privilege of teaching and guiding, your team or your own career, it does make a difference.”

As someone who values leading by example – and operates under the model of not asking someone to do anything she is not willing to do herself – Ms. Kate’s dedication is easily apparent. She has led The Malvern School of Richboro to operational success, including providing an exceptionally high level of service and quality to families and children. In doing so, she serves as a role model for peers and staff and is recognized for conscientiously driving the overall growth of her students and the school.

So what’s her secret to success?

“Believing in yourself, along with accurate and precise data keeping! But most importantly, it’s a strong, supportive team behind me. Without each one of them, our collective success would not be possible,” adds Ms. Kate, who manages of a team of 20 teachers and staff in Richboro.

While she has served as an Executive Director at The Malvern School for 11 years, and now holds the title of the school’s only Senior Executive Director across 26 locations, Ms. Kate started her career in a Pre-K setting more than 15 years ago.

“I have been hooked ever since,” she says. “The joy and overall warming feeling of assisting a child to achieve milestones was a feeling I never wanted to lose.”
