Royersford PreK Sends Their Love!

What is it like to work in a post office? The Pre-Kindergarten children at The Malvern School of Royersford found out! During the month of February, as a special learning center, the children had the opportunity to explore a post office. Our cashiers practiced their coin recognition and counting skills by “selling” envelopes, stamps, and stationary. The going rate for an envelope is five cents! The customers counted their coins, “purchased” supplies and then wrote letters to their classmates. Our Pre-Kindergarten children were very creative writing notes and drawing pictures for each other. Using the name cards, the children were able to carefully “address” the envelope to a classmate or teacher. Then, the letters were placed in the class mailbox! Our postal workers finally delivered the mail to the happy recipients. What a fun way to practice social skills, math, writing, reading, and drawing!
