Happy Sweet 16, Horsham!

As they say, time flies when you’re having fun – which is why we can hardly believe The Malvern School of Horsham just celebrated its 16th birthday!

When the big red doors on Lower State Road in Ambler opened for the first time on January 15, 2005, the building was buzzing with excitement. Thanks to our incredible team of Directors and teachers in Horsham, that same energy and enthusiasm for learning, exploring and building friendships is abundant in our classrooms each and every day.

It truly feels like every day is a celebration, but of course The Malvern School of Horsham’s Sweet 16 was extra special. Check out the festivities that were filled with tons of fun and our favorite, play-based learning!

When we say festive, we mean festive! Executive Director Crystal Eickhoff and Director of Education Erin Tudhope decked out the school foyer with balloons, streamers and a number 16 cake to welcome students and teachers to the Sweet 16 celebration.

Our friends were just as excited as our Directors and teachers to celebrate!

Using party props as tools for a sensory activity, friends in the Infant classroom explored textures with the help of streamers.

Classrooms also created sensory bags filled with sprinkles. Friends used their fingers to move the sprinkles around to fill in and decorate the cake drawn on the bag.

For a math activity, friends used birthday candles to create their own patterns and practice finishing patterns.

Friends practiced their fine motor skills and worked on their pencil grip as they decorated happy birthday hats for the celebration.

Who says you need a paintbrush to paint? Classrooms had fun with an alternative painting option – using a spatula to paint artistic birthday cupcakes.

This is just a taste of the fun and creative activities our team in Horsham cooks up on a daily basis, birthday or not.

Congratulations to the entire Malvern School community in Horsham for 16 fantastic years, and thank you to all of the parents and caregivers who have made us part of their families during that time. Here’s to celebrating many more years together!
