Celebrating the Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child is one of our favorite weeks of the year! This annual celebration, spearheaded by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is a wonderful time to celebrate our young friends and their families, as well as the fun, excitement and learning that early education brings into their lives!

The Week of the Young Child is celebrated across the country in all sorts of ways. At The Malvern School, each of our schools hosted their own unique celebrations in line with NAEYC’s daily themes. Check out some of our festivities below!

Music Monday

Our friends in Royersford had a Junkyard Jamboree, complete with a music wall built from upcycled materials, while our friends in Malvern and Lionville sang, danced and explored instruments with special musical guests.

Tasty Tuesday

Our preschoolers in Marlton made healthy “bear” snacks, and our chefs in Glen Mills made their own pizzas!

Work Together Wednesday

From building cardboard cities in Marlton to painting masterpieces in Freehold and creating a collective art project in Marlboro that will be auctioned off for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, our friends always enjoy teaming up and working together.

Artsy Thursday

Our friends in Marlton made classroom abstract art outdoors, and our artists in Glen Mills auctioned off their beautiful work to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation!

Family Friday

Our families in Glen Mills went home from school with all the fixings for a family movie night!
