The Malvern School of Erial Earns Coveted Industry Recognition

Top child care and preschool recognized for high-quality early childhood education with national NAEYC Accreditation

The Malvern School is proud to announce that The Malvern School of Erial has again earned national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. The Malvern School of Erial has been accredited since 2008, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards for quality early childhood education.

“Every early learning center aspires to be NAEYC-Accredited. With an outstanding team of educators, we’re thrilled to reach that goal and be recognized among the top programs in the nation for the past 15 years,” says Briana Valente, Executive Director at The Malvern School of Erial. “This honor is a testament to everything we do to provide the very best learning environments that set students and teachers up for success!”

In the 30 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. Less than 10 percent of all child care centers, preschools and kindergartens nationally achieve this certification.

According to NAEYC, “Research shows a direct correlation between high-quality early learning and children’s positive long-term outcomes in life, including increased educational attainment, healthier lifestyles and more successful careers. NAEYC Accreditation helps teachers and other staff at early learning programs develop a shared understanding and commitment to quality.”

The rigorous accreditation evaluation included an extensive self-study process, followed by an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure the program meets each of the 10 research-based program standards and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria. These standards include relationships; curriculum; teaching; assessment of child progress; health; staff competencies, preparation and support; families; community relationships; physical environment; and leadership and management.

“NAEYC-Accredited programs have committed to a process that takes time, energy and dedication to complete,” states Alissa Mwenelupembe, NAEYC’s Senior Director of Early Learning Program Accreditation. “The Malvern School of Erial has demonstrated their commitment to young children and their families.”
