The Malvern School of Collegeville Earns National NAEYC Accreditation

Program recognized among the top in the nation by earning accreditation

In recognition of its high-quality early learning program, The Malvern School of Collegeville has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. Less than 10 percent of all child care centers, preschools, and kindergartens nationally achieve this certification.

According to NAEYC, “Research shows a direct correlation between high-quality early learning and children’s positive long-term outcomes in life, including increased educational attainment, healthier lifestyles, and more successful careers. NAEYC Accreditation helps teachers and other staff at early learning programs develop a shared understanding and commitment to quality.”

“NAEYC Accreditation is the gold standard for early childhood educations programs, and we’re ecstatic to have earned this highly respected mark of quality,” says Tanya Mattar, Director of Education at The Malvern School of Collegeville. “At the core of this honor are our teachers, who are personally invested in helping all of our students thrive in a loving, fun and educationally stimulating environment. We have one of the best early learning programs because they bring their best every day!”

The rigorous accreditation evaluation included an extensive self-study process, followed by an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure the program meets each of the 10 research-based program standards and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria. These standards include relationships; curriculum; teaching; assessment of child progress; health; staff competencies, preparation and support; families; community relationships; physical environment; and leadership and management.

“NAEYC-Accredited programs have committed to a process that takes time, energy and dedication to complete,” states Alissa Mwenelupembe, NAEYC’s Senior Director Early Learning Program Accreditation. “The Malvern School of Collegeville has demonstrated their commitment to young children and their families.”
