WESTTOWN — The Malvern School has officially broken ground on the site of its new school in Westtown Township, its 27th location.

The Malvern School of Westtown will offer customized early childhood education for children from six weeks to eight years old, including programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-kindergarteners and kindergarten enrichment. Slated to open in Spring 2020, the new school will be located on the corner of Wilmington Pike/202 and East Pleasant Road.

School officials said with innovative curriculum and a team of forward-thinking, college-degreed educators, The Malvern School ensures children learn, feel loved and are encouraged to meet their highest potential at each stage of their development, making it the preschool of choice for more than two decades.

“Westtown is a really special place. One that clearly values high-quality education at all levels,” said Kristen M. Waterfield, president and co-founder of The Malvern School. “We couldn’t be more excited to further enhance Westtown’s rich educational landscape with The Malvern School’s early childhood education programs that empower young children and their families alike.”

Adding community value to Westtown’s educational landscape, Waterfield has also served on the board of trustees at Westtown School, a Quaker Pre-K through 12th grade, co-ed, private college prep and boarding school, since 2010. She has also served on several committees critical to the school’s advancement.

The Malvern School of Westtown will be the organization’s 27th location, joining more than two dozen schools in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern and central New Jersey, including existing Chester County locations in Malvern, Frazer, Lionville and Downingtown.

“Chester County is where The Malvern School began in 1998, and our fantastic relationship with parents and partners in the local community is part of what fueled us to become the largest privately owned preschool in Greater Philadelphia,” Waterfield said. “We look forward to expanding these ties and enriching the lives of even more young children.”
