Meet Our Directors

Alexis Lewis, Executive Director

Alexis Lewis is the Executive Director at The Malvern School of Royersford. Alexis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. Before joining The Malvern team in 2017, Alexis was an Elementary School teacher. She joined the team as an Assistant Director/Executive Director-in-Training and was promoted to Executive Director while at the West Norriton school location.

Alexis’ proudest moment of her professional career was becoming Executive Director of West Norriton. She truly loves that Malvern is a family. “When our families, children, or teachers enter through the red doors they get to come into an environment that surrounds them with support, comfort, and love,” says Alexis. As a mom herself, she feels amazing about The Malvern School because they put the children first in everything they do, and to know all children in the school are being loved while learning each day.

Outside of school, Alexis is busy spending time with her family. Her husband and four young children enjoy swimming in their pool, having fires in the backyard, and riding four-wheelers. Cool fact about Alexis! She has two pet goats- Charles and Phillip! She was also a competitive dancer for most of her childhood with a specialty in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and pointe! Alexis’ favorite children’s book is “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae and “Dear Girl” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Paris Rosenthal.

Candice Rachor, Director of Education

Candice Rachor is the Director of Education at The Malvern School of Royersford. Candice holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Kindergarten Education from Penn State University and a Master of Education with a focus on Literacy from West Chester University. She has more than a decade of experience in early childhood education. Prior to joining The Malvern School in 2021 as the Pre-K Lead teacher at our Oaks location, she was the lead teacher and Principal at another childcare center.

Candice’s proudest moment of her professional career was earning her master’s degree. As the first person in her family to get a bachelor’s and the only one to earn a master's, her family is very proud of her accomplishments. Candice believes that The Malvern School is the best program because of the curriculum and the opportunity for teachers to write their own curriculum. This allows them to plan instructions based on the children’s diverse interests and needs.

During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She likes to cook and bake, and in the summer, read on the beach. As a young child she always wanted to be a teacher and her favorite children’s book is “Where Do Balloons Go? An Uplifting Mystery” by Jamie Lee Curtis.
