Charitable Giving, The Malvern Way

Giving back and helping others is a year-round effort at The Malvern School. Our schools actively support a variety of causes across more than 25 local communities and, naturally, the holidays are a particularly busy season for this type of outreach.

Spearheaded by our amazing Directors, teachers and staff – and supported by our equally amazing families and partners – these charitable efforts make a real difference for those in need. Combined with character-building lessons and hands-on opportunities to get involved, they also teach children key lessons about the importance of giving back. That’s The Malvern Way.

Check out how we’re giving back this holiday season!

PJS FOR DAYS

Our schools in Horsham, Marlboro, Royersford, Valley Forge, Warrington and Westtown are keeping kids warm and cozy this winter by collecting donations of new pajamas that will be distributed to children through The Pajama Program. Some of these collections were part of the Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive with Scholastic donating one book for every PJ collected!

The Malvern School of King of Prussia and The Malvern School of Oaks are collecting pajamas for Cradles to Crayons, and The Malvern School of Glen Mills is supporting the charity with a “Gear Up for Winter” drive for pajamas and winter gear. Additionally, The Malvern School of Collegeville is collecting pajamas for children at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia!

NOURISHING THOSE IN NEED

We’re helping feed those in need with food drives for several local nonprofits. Our schools in Montgomeryville and Upper Gwynedd are hosting collections for Manna on Main Street, and our schools in Frazer and Malvern are collecting for Hope Food Bank. Donations from Richboro, Medford and Freehold are headed to the Emergency Relief Association, Food Bank of South Jersey and Freehold Area Open Door, respectively.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Many of our schools – including our locations in Collegeville, Lionville, Newtown Square, Robbinsville and Washington Township – are supporting Toys for Tots to deliver fun and joy through toys. Our schools in Marlton and Voorhees are also supporting The Cooper Foundation Toy Drive!

FULFILLING FAMILY WISH LISTS

Our Malvern School family loves making the holidays bright for other families. Our schools in Blue Bell, Malvern, Medford and Robbinsville are all participating in “adopt-a-family” programs through organizations like the Wissahickon Boys and Girls Club and Legacy Treatment Services.

Additionally, The Malvern School of Erial is hosting a food, clothing and toy drive for Unforgotten Haven. The Malvern School of Downingtown is collecting clothes and toys for the Community Youth and Women’s Alliance. And The Malvern School of West Norriton is gathering gift cards, groceries and winter items for Laurel House. Their donations will help ensure these families have the necessities they need as well as special items from their wish lists.

It’s amazing to see what a big impact we can make when we all work together to help those who are less fortunate. Thank you to everyone who has a hand in organizing and supporting these efforts. We’re proud to have such a caring and generous Malvern School community!
