Kindness matters. Its a value we treasure and emphasize throughout The Malvern School. Its also the idea behind
The Great Kindness Challenge, a global initiative that gives students and families the tools to foster a culture of compassion, acceptance, unity and respect in their schools, homes, communities and the world. This year,
The Malvern School of Royersford participated in The Great Kindness Challenge Week from January 24-28 with special activities designed to help our young friends build and practice this important skill. On Monday, our classes discussed the different ways that we can show kindness. Our friends made checklists of kind acts we can do every day and practiced helping each other and their teachers.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10913" align="aligncenter" width="650"]
Each classroom read a book about kindness on Tuesday. Our friends drew pictures and wrote letters to show kindness toward others.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10914" align="aligncenter" width="650"]
On Wednesday, we threw kindness like confetti by giving compliments to our friends throughout the day while playing together.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10916" align="aligncenter" width="650"]
We wrapped up the week with our Kindness Hearts Tree reveal. Throughout the week, students had the opportunity to earn kindness hearts. When they were caught doing something kind, teachers and family members added their name to a kindness heart and added it to the colorful tree in our lobby. What a heart-warming display![/caption] Interested in getting involved at home? Check out The Great Kindness Challenge Family Edition
