Meet Our Directors

Wendy Politi, Executive Director

Wendy Politi is the Executive Director at The Malvern School of Upper Gwynedd. While Wendy joined The Malvern School of Upper Gwynedd team in 2023 with more than 35 years of experience working in early childhood education, she was no stranger to The Malvern School. In fact, she was an Executive Director at our schools for seven years! She missed us so much and had to return. She has an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Of the many years of teaching and directing, getting the opportunity to open news schools was very rewarding to Wendy. She really thrives in the collaborative work environment at The Malvern School. Working alongside the Director of Education and the Curriculum and Health &Safety Coordinators contributes to the success of the school and provides a positive learning environment for all children.

During her free time, Wendy enjoys camping and visiting wineries. Fun Fact about Wendy! She met her future husband in Middle School! As a young child Wendy always wanted to be a teacher and her favorite children’s book is “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” by Judith Viorst.

Joanna Dermer, Director of Education

Joanna Dermer is the Director of Education at The Malvern School of Upper Gwynedd. Joanna joined The Malvern School team in 2023 with almost a decade of experience working in early childhood education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Gwynedd Mercy University and started her career in the classroom as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher.

One of Joanna’s proudest moment of her career was being named the Director of Education at The Malvern School. She is proud to work for an educational program that is diverse and well-rounded and she’s grateful to support teachers as they learn and grow. Her favorite aspect of The Malvern School is the Specialty Rooms – they provide an interactive location for hands-on learning for the children.

During her free time, Joanna enjoys spending time with husband and daughter, Eva. She is an avid reader – open for book recommendations! - and enjoys spending time at the beach. Fun Fact about Joanna! She loves to travel and once visited five different European countries in one day! As a young child Joanna always wanted to be a teacher and her favorite children’s book is “Press Here” by Herve Tullet.

North Wales, PA
It's been good so far. We are sad to see Ms. Rahisha leave. She is the reason we joined. Ms. Kaitlyn in first step is amazing. Kaitlyn is THE BEST! Ms. Tracey, Ms. Hanna, Ms. Heater, Ms. Jessica M. and Mr. TJ have been wonderful too.

This is an excellent school. The current Director is phenomenal and the teachers work really hard to offer a wonderful experience for the students.
