Happy Halloween! Halloween is one of the most exciting holidays for our children. At The Malvern School, we celebrate the season in many different ways. We host our annual Fall Festival--a fun family community event which includes fall activities like pumpkin decorating, face painting, arts and crafts, and food! We also host our annual costume parades at each of our schools. It is a good time for our families to see their children parade through the school yard dressed in their Halloween costumes. After all the fun at our schools, it is important to keep in mind a few safety tips as you prepare your children for the big night. We are all about having fun but we want to make sure that everyone has a safe and
spooktacular Halloween! Here are just a few tips to keep in mind:
- Glow in the dark have your children carry glow sticks or place reflectors on their trick or treat bags. This will ensure that your children will be seen while navigating the streets.
- Skip the masks select face paint instead of a mask, which can often obstruct your childs vision.
- Plan our route map out your neighborhood before you leave the house. For older kids, make sure they are familiar with the route.
- Be street wise walk on the sidewalks and follow the rules of the road: stop at crosswalks and make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.
- Inspect your treats after a fun night of trick or treating, make sure you inspect your childs bag for any candy that may be a choking hazard or any that seem to be tampered with.
We hope your family has a safe and fun Halloween!
