The Valley Forge Educational Services (VFES) Board of Trustees would like to recognize its retiring trustees and their commitment to VFES’s important mission of preparing children and adults with special needs to realize their potential as contributing members of the community. Three trustees will complete their terms of service on July 1, 2021: Dr. Michael J. Kelly (Vice-Chair) Mr. Jeff Rohrbeck and Mr. Jerome N. Kline. Dr. Michael Kelly served as Trustee for 6 years and held the position of Vice Chair for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 fiscal years. Mr. Jeff Rohrbeck served as Trustee for 5 years and sat on the Finance Committee from 2017 to 2021. Mr. Kline served as Trustee from 2016 to 2021. The VFES Board of Trustees wish Dr. Kelly, Mr. Rohrbeck and Mr. Kline well in their future endeavors.
The VFES Board of Trustees also extends a heartfelt welcome to incoming Board of Trustee members, Ms. Kristen Waterfield and Ms. Connie Bompadre. Both incoming trustees will begin their terms of service on July 1, 2021.
Ms. Kristen Waterfield is the CEO and Founder of The Malvern School, a private preschool with 27 locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has achieved several recognitions throughout her career, including most recently The Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2020 Women of Distinction Honoree award in October 2020 and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist, Greater Philadelphia. Kristen has attained a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. She is also actively involved in Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, United for HER and Cradles to Crayons. Ms. Connie Bompadre served as the Assistant Superintendent of Marple Newtown School District from 2010 until 2021. Previously, she served as Director of Education, K-12 and Director of Elementary Education at Marple Newtown School District. Ms. Bompadre holds a Doctor of Education from Immaculata College, a Master of Education in Reading and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from West Chester University. VFES currently is seeking individuals with strong educational, clinical, fundraising and executive leadership skill sets to serve as VFES Trustees.
