Patrick Scott, brother of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) Founder Alex Scott, was on hand to accept the donation, which will support the fight against childhood cancer. With this donation, The Malvern School will have raised nearly $1 million for ALSF over more than 11 years. “Our partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is really special because it’s about more than dollars and cents. It’s all about the children, both the children fighting pediatric cancer and the students in our classrooms,” said President and Co-Founder of The Malvern School Kristen M. Waterfield. “While our support enables ALSF to help children battling this disease so bravely in a number of ways, it also helps us teach young children about the importance of helping others and allows them to take an active role in doing so, in an impactful way. This is one of the most powerful things we can do as educators.”

From April through July, teachers and Directors at all 26 Malvern School locations engaged children, families and their communities in fun fundraising activities and events, including lemonade stands, carnivals, art auctions, fundraising partnerships with local businesses and more. All of the proceeds from these efforts are donated to ALSF. “The way our communities rally together year after year to support this immensely important cause is completely inspiring,” Waterfield added. The event also honored outstanding ALSF fundraisers from The Malvern School, including: Top Child Fundraiser - Jackson Smith, a Pre-K student from The Malvern School of Robbinsville, NJ, who personally raised $1,450 through the school’s “Pre-K Stand Up” challenge; Top Overall Fundraiser – The Malvern School of Blue Bell which raised more than $20,000 to date this year; Top Single Event at a School – The Malvern School of Marlboro, NJ; Top Stand Day Year Over Year Increase – The Malvern School of King of Prussia; ‘Crow for a Cause’ Facebook Challenge – The Malvern School of Glen Mills; Certificates of Achievement for reaching their 2019 ALSF fundraising goals – The Malvern Schools of Richboro, West Norriton, King of Prussia, Horsham, Newtown Square, Oaks, Medford (NJ), Freehold (NJ), Jackson (NJ), Blue Bell, Robbinsville (NJ), Malvern Day Camp and The Malvern School Executive Office; Top Business Partner Contributor – McMain Law.

The Malvern School has been a strong supporter of ALSF for more than 11 years and each year has been named a Top Fundraiser by the organization. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $175 million so far, funding nearly 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
