In June of 1998,
The Malvern School opened its first schools in Malvern, Pennsylvania to provide high-quality early childhood education that goes above and beyond to set young children, their families and teachers up for success. Now, as one of the largest privately owned child care and preschool providers in the region, The Malvern School is celebrating 25 years of empowering children and adults throughout Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey. “The Malvern School started as an educator’s dream: a dream to take early learning to the next level in order to help young children and teachers reach their highest potential,” says Kristen M. Waterfield, Founder & CEO of The Malvern School. “Thanks to a very special group of early childhood education professionals and an outstanding community of families, that became a reality and The Malvern School has grown to become one of the most sought-after destinations for early learning. We’re deeply grateful for everyone who has been part of our journey thus far and are extremely proud of the lives we have touched. There’s so much to celebrate!” Celebrations throughout The Malvern School’s 25
th anniversary year will include birthday parties at schools, features on its tenured staff, family spotlights, special fundraising efforts and more.
With an innovative approach to programming for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners – including a focus on individualized, play-based curriculum, literacy and character development – The Malvern School has expanded to 27 school locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. All of its schools are designed to meet or exceed the highest standards established by the
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s largest early childhood accrediting organization. “We recognize that there’s a lot more to early learning than ABCs and 123s. That’s why we focus on nurturing children and helping them grow cognitively, socially and emotionally. That’s also why themes like inclusion and philanthropy are a core part of our curriculum,” Waterfield notes. “The way our school communities give back, both at and outside of school, is just incredible.” The Malvern School has raised more than $1.2 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the fight against childhood cancer since their philanthropic partnership began in 2007. In 2022, the organization received the coveted Alex Scott Crystal Cup Award in honor of The Malvern School’s belief that children have the power to make a difference and their outstanding commitment to continuing ALSF’s mission. “At our core, we’re dedicated to helping children learn, feel loved and thrive,” adds Waterfield. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue growing and evolving to best meet the needs of our children, families and communities!” Learn more about The Malvern School's 25th anniversary
